Shopping for Assisted Living: What Consumers Need to Make the Best Buy

The purpose of the hearing is to: 1) to gain a general understanding of the assisted living philosophy and the rapidly growing industry that is developing from it; 2) to examine quality of care concerns and consumer protection issues and subsequently raise awareness among consumers about these two areas; 3) to learn more about how assaisated living is regulated and to explore the unique challenges regulators face while protecting residents and preserving this u nique piece in long-term care.
