FORUM: Passport to Independence: Battling the Leading Causes of Disability Among Seniors

June 10, 1999


At this forum the Alliance for Aging Research released a report on the economic and social costs of lost independence and identifies the four conditions that are the most common causes of disability and often trigger nursing home admission or dependent care in the home. These conditions are vision loss, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease and incontenance.
