Prostate Cancer: The Silent Killer

September 23, 1997




The committee will seek to raise public awareness of the prostate cancer, examine the different screening and treatment options, and address the debate over when treatment is appropriate. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of male cancer deaths. The American Cancer Society predicts more than 330,000 new cases will be diagnosed in the United States this year. The hearing takes place during Prostate Cancer Awareness Week.
