Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) today introduced the Generating Antibiotic Incentives Now (GAIN) Act, bipartisan legislation to spur development of new antibiotics to combat the spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria. Senators Blumenthal and Corker were joined by Senators Bennet (D-CO), Hatch (R-UT), Casey (D-PA), and Alexander (R-TN).

In a letter dated Friday, October 14, U.S. Senators Bob Corker, R-Tenn., ranking member of the Special Committee on Aging, asked the co-chairs of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction to achieve at least $4 trillion in total deficit reduction through spending cuts, pro-growth tax reform, and necessary reforms to entitlement programs, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., ranking member of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, will chair a hearing entitled ?A Time for Solutions: Finding Consensus in the Medicare Reform Debate? on Wednesday, October 12. With the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction considering proposals to reduce federal spending, including possible reforms to Medicare, this hearing will review testimony to identify ideas that can be embraced by both parties to control Medicare spending and extend the solvency of the program.
