McCaskill Continues Senior Advocacy in Meeting with Top Official
Senator discusses senior fraud prevention, retirement security, and protecting Social Security
WASHINGTON – After recently becoming the top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Special Committee on Aging, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill this week met with Kathy Greenlee, the Assistant Secretary for Aging, to discuss her commitment to cut down on scams targeting America’s seniors, protect Social Security, and ensure retirees have the savings needed for a secure retirement.
“With the Baby Boom generation entering their retirement years, it’s never been more important to focus on fighting for America’s seniors,” McCaskill said. “Too many elected officials are focused on dismantling programs like Medicare and Social Security rather than protecting them. I look forward to working with Assistant Secretary Greenlee on how we can ensure that older Americans continue to have secure, productive and healthy lives.

McCaskill, along with Chairman Susan Collins (R-Maine), today will lead a bipartisan hearing on the current challenges facing individuals fighting and caring for those with Alzheimer’s Disease. The Senate Special Committee on Aging leads discussion and debate on matters relating to older Americans.
